Rain (Boomer)

Preparedness

When you know your period is coming soon, where do you keep your cup? Do you carry yours around with you, do you stash a small-profile tampon in your bag and wait until you get home, or do you have some other super clever method?

I carry my diva cup around in my purse (inside its pouch), but it takes up most of the spot that is usually occupied by my cell phone. Shows you where my priorities lie; I move my phone in favor of my cup!

Popping open/insertion problems

I have been trying frequently for about a month to get my divacup to work, but it just won't. Insertion and removal have gradually gotten easier, but the only time my cup has ever popped open is the first day I tried putting it in. Now I can put it in, but it only sort of flattens out into an oval shape. It is always wider from my left to my right and shorter/squashed from front to back. I think this is just the way my vagina is naturally shaped, but I don't really know. I have tried running it under cold water and then putting it in, but it still won't open. The manual says that it won't open because I am inserting it incorrectly, but I really don't know what I am doing wrong. Also, as soon as I insert the cup the suction gets really strong and I can't twist it or move it around at all.

So, any tips on correct insertion and/or popping open would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
