I am a Diva!

I'm not sure when one can officially proclaim oneself a Diva, but I think I earned the title. I'm about 3/4 of the way through my second day with my new DivaCup and I have to say that I'm absolutely IN LOVE with it! I had just about no problems getting it in yesterday morning, just a little trouble rotating it to get it open. I went all day with no discomfort or leakage whatsoever. If I hadn't had terrible cramps, I would have completely forgotten I had my period at all. I took the cup out after about 10 hours or so - it was about half-full and there was no mess at all. I was so excited I almost ran out to show it to my husband, but then I thought better of it. No problems sleeping with it last night, and none today yet.

I really do feel like a diva, I must say. I feel much more clean and confident than usual during this time of the month. I swear, every woman should have one of these!

I JUST got my DivaCup today, and excited, I ran to the bathroom to give it a test run since I want to get it right before I start my green pill week in two weeks. So I washed it first, and folded it up, while wet, and inserted it. No pain, no discomfort. I poked and prodded around, then pulled it out, when I noticed I was bleeding! But I wasn't in any pain or discomfort, and yet i was bleeding? Spotting for me is a rarity among rarities.

Why would I bleed unless I was spotting, especially since I wasn't in any pain or discomfort?
When 'engaged', is the DivaCup supposed to be round? Mine is kind of flat/oval shaped when inside my vagina, yet believe I have it right (I think I got suction). It's hard to tell without leaks to smack me upside the head.

Cutting the Stem

Has anyone ever cut the stem completely off their Diva Cup? I kept getting poked and pinched no matter what I seemed to do? Maybe I'm just doing something wrong? But, you have to admit, that stem looks pretty lethal (or, I'm just being overly-dramatic).

I am a virgin who has only used a tampon once (and for 15 minutes). I'm having a bit of trouble getting my cup in. I fold it and I start to insert it and it fits in, but it won't go up any further.

Now, I didn't want to hurt my delicate self so I did not want to just shove it inside me, but if I might have to. I don't understand the 7 method so, that's kind of out, but do you think it has to do with the fact that I am not a tampon user and virgin?
