IUD and DivaCup

I just scrolled through some recent posts, but I didn't find the discussion Im' thinking of. I'm not sure if it was here or on a whole different keeper forum that I read it. However, I"m a little nervous now, myself.

I've got an IUD. When I got it, I remember talking to my doctor and making sure that I could use menstrual cups. I don't remember specifying Keeper or Instead, but I probably did. And shesaid that would be fine.

I just switched to a DivaCup, and I used it yesterday for the first time. The suction was un-freaking-believable. I could NOT break the seal in order to get it out. I used a Keeper for a couple of years, and I am well aware of how to break a suction. I could not break the suction. I ended up pulling it out with the seal still intact. And it HURT (I remember how much it hurt before I got it right on the keeper).

Now, I"m a little concerned about this suction and my IUD. Is this going to be a problem? I didn't reinsert my Keeper because I don't want to take any chanches. If I had no IUD, I'd have reinserted it and worked harder to learn how to get rid of this significantly stronger seal, but with the IUD, I'm a little leery.

Are there any DivaCup users out there (specifically DivaCup) who have an IUD and asked their doctors about the safety factor with the stronger suction?

So, I cut the last of my stem off my cup last month because it was still sometimes irritating and I didn't need it - or so I thought.
I went to take it out this morning and I had to re-position it first because it had tipped all the way to the side - with the stem it would tip to the side too but the stem would stick in my vaginal walls and I assume stopped it from tipping over. I haven't leaked yet but I think I am going to have to buy a new Mooncup now *mummbles*
