Hey Ladies!

So I've been using my Diva for, oh, 4-ish years, and it's starting to not seal so well. Probably mostly due to the itsy bitsy holes which I cannot clean out. I've tried it all: covering the top and squeezing water out, bobby pins, real pins, blablabla... and also, a couple of the holes are starting to tear a little. It's been a wonderful little cup, and I'll keep it going for a while yet, but I'm thinking that I might invest in a new cup for the day this one wears out, plus because it's fun to get a new cup. :-)

Now, I haven't actually been keeping up with the cup scene, except that when I got mine, there was Diva Cup, Keeper, Keeper Mooncup, Mooncup UK, and that was about it. Now there are a zillion different brands, cups, shapes, sizes, cours, textures, and everything in between. I'd like to try something new. Seeing as I've liked the DivaCup (the old one with the cursive writing on the inside and the itty bitty holes), what do YOU think would be a good new cup?

Thanks!

I've got a Diva like yours and have been thinking about getting another cup, just to see if another one would be just that much more comfortable. The Lunette (depending where you are and how soon things work out with their US approval process) seems good -- it seems to have a similar capacity to the Diva but is a bit shorter. Ladycup seems similar to that and might be more readily available.

The femininewear site has good comparative info and pictures, as does this site, somewhere...

Maybe get a ladycup. They have big holes that are easy to clen and they have strong suction.

...but half the holes on my large LadyCup are much lower than the holes on my large Diva. I have not used my LadyCup on my heavy days cause I'm afraid with such big holes, it'll leak faster than my Diva. Less capacity if that's true. Just a thought.

They didn't say anything about flow so I figured it couldn't hurt to suggest just because you can't use a ladycup on your heavy days doesn't mean they can't.

true...just a thought from my experiences...

I've used my LC on my heavy days when I couldn't find my DC... It does fill up faster, but I haven't had any trouble with leaking from the holes specifically.

My Diva worked just fine for me but I wanted to try another cup, so I got a Selene. I LOVE it.

Use the size charts to figure out what might fit you best next: http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/1285963.html

Otherwise it's like asking what size shoes to buy if you have blue eyes. Just because I wear 7-narrow doesn't mean you should too.

I found the Lady Cup to be a similar size and shape to the Diva, but the slightly softer material made it more comfortable for me. The exterior is more slick though, making removal more difficult at first.

I think which new cup you try depends more on weather Diva rides up really high with you, or sits low. And how heavy your flow is. Also if you've had children, and such. But I do think you would like a brand with holes easier to clean.

I personally think Lunette's holes are easier to clean. They are FDA approved now, its just they have to change their packaging before they can ship here, per FDA requirements. Might be worth waiting until they get their packaging.

Ladycup's holes are really easy to clean, but as others have said, it depends how heavy your flow is, weather or not you would be happy with one.

I like Miacup too, even though its really squishy, because I figured out some tricks to pop it open. Try to decide what qualities you want most, and go for that cup. :)
