I'm just wondering if any of you ladies have actually been able to insert without folding? I've been playing around alot with my cups just to figure out a bunch of different stuff and low and behold...I found out (with much practice) that if I pinch the cup closed and tilt it as to put one end of the fold slightly in first and then slowly push and slant at the same time i can get the rim in (I had to be real careful cause I felt as if it could make a little itty bitty tear if I wasn't careful). I then pushed it all the way up to the cervix and squeezed it to get the air out. It worked!!! I don't want anyone thinking OMG this chic is loose as a goose!!! LOL I'm not...just very experimental and have NO problems what so ever figuring stuff out down there. I HAVE had two children so bigger things have passed through that area lol. I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried this and if you were successful enough to use this as your means of insertion.
I want to let it be known that I got the idea to try this after being sucked to death by my cup upon it opening inside me. it would latch on to whatever was in it's path including the wall of my vagi LOL I'm like SCREW THIS. Anyway, that's how I discovered I could do this. It works well with lube.

I haven't tried it, but I suspect I can do it as well. I've wondered about it, just never got around to it. I'm fairly young and have had no children so I don't necessarily think this means you have to be loosey. LOL!

I shall try it in a couple more weeks. I think it's probably much easier DURING the cycle. LOL

I've tried the method you describe above twice. I can only do it with a small Meluna, or a small ladycup. The others, no, I have to fold them. But even still, on my light days, small ladycup and small meluna hold up quite well.

I don’t think insertion without folding is that unattainable in general, though. I mean a penis is longer, firmer and (in some cases) wider than a cup, and we don’t have to fold those to get them in :) But then again, they are solid and rounded at the front, which makes all the difference.

LOL My thoughts exactly! Thanks.

Just because you can relax your PC muscles "loose" enough to be able to do that doesn't mean you're "loose." My favorite analogy is that even the strongest body-builder in the world can hold a little birdie in his hands without squishing it.

We all insert and remove differently. The insertion method you described sounds like how I remove my cups -- but in reverse.

For insertion, I stick my folded cup in so the rim is beyond my pubic bone, create an air channel with my finger and allow the cup to open fully there. Then I give the cup a boost as I Kegel it up and into place.

:) Thank you. Cute analogy by the way!

SOmetimes mine is open before I insert. My cup doesn't really pop open like it does for other people (I've used a small Diva and just finished my first cycle with a large Lunette).
Anyways, sometimes the best way for me to insert is to let it open up right at the opening of my vagina, then I push it up into place.
I've never had kids... I don't think being "looser" has anything to do with it really. I found it does hurt a tiny bit with the large Lunette... but if it works, I don't care.

No doubt. Exactly!

I don't know if this would work for me. Not from a "cant get it in" standpoint, but from a "it feels like I'm shoving air up there" stand point! lol. Mine seals pretty much as soon as it pops open, and when I go to push it a little further up, it feels like that bit of air between the cup and my cervix will cause somsthing to pop. HAA

WOW! it's so amazing just how many differences there are from one vagina to another. And how what works for one is totally uncomfortable for the other. I gotcha on the air thing, but it's not uncomfortable for me, I remove the air (once it's up there by squeezing the cup) because I'm guessing when my flow tries to enter the cup, the air will have to be displaced and how the heck is the air going to get out if it's sealed? So yeah...that's what I did and it seems to work A-ok. It was uncomfortable for me TO fold the cup because like I said in my original post, it would open up on anything and suck (with awesome force I might add)the walls of my vagi. Not only unpleasant, but 9 times out of 10 I'd get extremely pissed about it, I mean come on...hormones are raging, don't mess with me LOL oh my, I'm writing a novel aren't I? Anyway, thanks for your reply!!!

Ive had a baby and feel the same down there as I ever was... ;) Sex is actually better now for me... ( that mightve been TMI...)

Ive never tried to insert a cup without folding but I have pushed it out without it being folded up... It hurt a little bit. Similar feeling to that "ring of fire" just not nearly as intense. ;)

Agree with both these points - I remove my cup pretty much the way you described, but always insert it folded.

And I thought that after giving birth my cups would go in and out much more easily after all that stretching, but no such thing. Everything is pretty much back to the same state it was before. We'll see what happens after this second child! ;)

I've never really folded my cups properly - it gets folded in half, then pushed up by using my thumb to push the cup up the back wall of my vagina. My Ladycup, being diddy, would probably go up without folding...but I find if I don't go through the folding (or half folding I normally do) that it will try to go in sideways.

I have never did that. I cringe even at the C fold. That being said, I believe if I was sexually aroused I would be able to get a non-folded cup in. But masturbating seems like a lot of work just to put in a cup so I just fold it.

I think I did that once or twice with my small Diva pre-preg. Now that I've had a baby and some tearing and stitches, I am tight as freaking anything, even 14 months after the birth. It is NOT comfortable. What I'd give for a little looseness.
