Ok, so I'm a noob cup user, and now that I've taken the stem completely off so it doesn't poke me while I sit, I love it.

But...

This evening as I was removing my cup, the damnably slippery little thing flew out of my fingers, flipped in the air, and flung its contents over everything- Me, my jeans, my underwear, (why was I wearing white panties at this time of month???)There was even some up on the bathroom counter.

!!!

So, for other noobs out there, take heed of my "teachable moment," and hold your cups gently.

Okay, I apologize in advance, but... bahahahahahaha this is excellent. :3

Same here! Hahahahahaha!

But lesson learned, don't worry. Good that was I home, yes?

Yeah, fortunately I can see the hillarity of these things pretty quickly!

If only I could learn to channel them!

Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm very glad I didn't have one of those moments this cycle, but yes, lesson learned.

Also, your icon just made my night.
Undisputed Ruler of My Sock Drawergoddessbxl on May 23rd, 2009 03:49 pm (UTC)
It's my favorite icon, and is meant with absolutely no disrespect for Bob Ross, who rocked.
radicalancient on May 23rd, 2009 09:44 am (UTC)
LMAO. What cup was this, if I may ask? Sounds zigzackly like something the Mooncup UK would do :P
Undisputed Ruler of My Sock Drawergoddessbxl on May 23rd, 2009 03:51 pm (UTC)
It the U.S. Mooncup.

I didn't find out about the Mooncup vs. Moon Cup debaucle until after I'd ordered it, or I would have gone with another brand.

As I was reading this I was picturing it happening in slow motion, and could imagine the slowed-down "Noooooooo!" coming from your mouth. Only problem is - the only image of 'you' I have is the art guy in your icon! Doesn't quite work but is very funny! Thanks for the laugh : )
Undisputed Ruler of My Sock Drawer: frogtatgoddessbxl on May 23rd, 2009 04:01 pm (UTC)
That was about right! Except that I don't look like Bob Ross/Spartan Guy. The only icon of me I have is this one, and it's just my frog.

Lesson #2 (Emptying): Grip Before You Tip (GBYT)

I had a similar cup malfunction shortly after I got my first cup. I used to love looking at the texture/consistency of my blood as I'd never seen it before. I used to take it out by the sink and then look at it.

One time, I was in a rush, so I thought I'd sit on the loo, take my cup out, do my biz and then look at it. So I took the cup out and dumped it in the sick. I was a bit rougher than I meant to be, so when I chucked the cup in the sink the damn thing BOUNCED and I ended up spattering my tiny bathroom (it's like a cupboard :-P) with my blood. It looked like a murder scene in there.

Yipes! I'm right with you on the murder scene, though. What a mess!

I have friends who are teachers, and "teachable moment" popped right into my head with this!

HAHAHAHA...I've done that too though. My second or third cycle though...lol. Unfortunatley, the floor in my bathroom is currently unfinished plywood covered in rugs. Meaning, the stains are still there almost 6 months later.

Yipes! At least mine only hit easily wiped down areas!

I've totally made a mess before. You're not alone!!

I've been using my Mooncup UK since January and hadn't had any problems like that until I decided to try emptying it in the shower yesterday. It was so much more slippery than usual and it flew out of my hand and bounced around the bathtub - the water diluted the blood and made it look like there was so much more of it than there really was! I know there must have been about 6ml in there but it really did look like a murder scene. In future I think I'll stick to emptying it when I'm sitting on the toilet :-P
tegelly on May 24th, 2009 04:09 am (UTC)
That's one thing that struck me when I started using a cup . . . it only takes a tiny bit of blood in a lot of water to make it look like heaps of blood.
daimeredaimere on May 27th, 2009 01:43 am (UTC)
I actually start ripping off one teeny square of toilet paper to use to remove my cup. I think it's a combination of the slippery/my long nails/blood issues. It helps with the slickness of them though
