I don't think I've ever seen this topic on this community before, so here goes... has anyone ever worn their cup while getting a wax? I mean, could the beautician notice it? Probably not, right? I might get a wax today, and I'm at the "dark discharge" stage of my period. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Btw, I have no idea what to tag this under...

I would probably wear an Instead, since they sit up higher and don't have a stem.

I don't know if it was here or on another community, but someone has definitely posted about having a bikini wax when using their menstrual cup. It went fine, there was no leaking and no discomfort at all.

I would do it. If you're afraid of them seeing and being all 'wtf' just casually mention 'I'm so glad I have menstrual cup or else I couldn't get this done today!' or something to that effect.

Well, if you are going for a full brazilian I would say just let the esthetician know what the deal is. you may get a convert out of her. And some places even use a disposable panty and shift it around thereby not exposing you clitoris or vulva, and that way she'll never know. In the end, I say let her make the call on whether or not it's something she's comfortable with.

I would wear my cup and not be too concerned if the beautician saw it. And if she happened to see it I'd say she's having way too close a look at my privates. Another poster mentioned disposable panties; I've heard that before and it kind of makes sense to me; ask the person you are seeing if they have them available. Now that I think about it, I'd assume they have disposable panties, if they didn't I think it might make me wonder. Just a matter of professionalism type thing IMO.

As already mentioned it might be a good idea to maybe mention you are on your period. Might be a bit awkward but a good idea; you might be a bit more sensitive being on your period and might be good for the beautician to know. Also a good opportunity to mention if you want that you use a menstrual cup so no need to worry about leakage or anything of the sort that maybe the beautician may concern herself with in doing her work.

I actually just got a brazilian where she used a panty. I was surprised myself having had a few in the past without the coverage. She simply moved it around, sometimes asking me to hold it in place to one side and such. She did an awesome job, and managed to get to everything. I was surprised myself that it could work that way, but it did. This was out in California, which may have something to do with their training or laws. I for one felt a bbit more comfortable with the whole process, and I;m not that skittish about the exposure issue.

I've been bikini area lasered with my cup in. My cup sits up high, so there's no way she could have seen it unless she was like lasering my vagina. It was fine, I didn't even dawn on me to be concerned about it.

Ok... So I haven't got my cup yet.. but...ummm they can see the cup??????????? HOW!?!

Sorry but I was not well informed. I thought it was going to go in and no one knows. kinda like tampon without the strings. O_O

If your cup sits low, the stem might be visible if you, say, had your legs spread open. Under other conditions (wearing a swimsuit, sitting naked, etc.) the cup should be completely inside you.

I wear my for waxing (legs and bikini) last time and it was only my second moon using it and had no problem at all.

I think that if the beautician notice it (brazilian or whatever) you'll just have to let her know about the wonderfullness of cups. I don't think it make much more difference for them than a tampon.

Va j-j Visor
There is something called a Va j-j Visor, kind of nifty like a cup. Haven't used one myself, I only just came across it a few minutes ago while discovering that Rite Aid sells the Diva Cup.
