Cups and urinary infections?

Anyone know if there is any information out there on whether cups can increase the risk of urinary infections?

I've never used a diaphragm or cervical cap, but it's my understanding that they can press on the urethra and slow down the flow of urine, which can promote bacterial growth in the urethra, leading to infections. A menstrual cup seems like it could potentially do the same thing. Anyone have difficulty urinating when the cup is in place or have any experience with cups increasing the rate of infections?
