Does anyone know if Lunette is coming up with new coloured cups once the Selene is sold out? Or do they plan to manufacture another few batches of Selenes?

Did you mean to post this through the LJ writing prompt of the day? :)

But nope, don't know, sorry.

I don't know, but I heard that some companies shy away from too much cup coloring because the chemicals used to color the silicone can sometimes interfere with the quality of the material… Don’t know how true/accurate that is. I suppose only time well tell. I know that Ladycup had some problems with colored cups for a bit, so maybe…

The problem with the coloured Ladycups was an error in the curing process, not with the addition of dyes.

I guess you can check up in the Lunette International website for more news. I have a feeling that if enough people email them they might make the Selene a permanent product, but that's just my hunch.

I sent an email asking them, and they just sent me a copy of my email back to me in Finnish. I never tried again.

haha! wow, that's hilarious! (or maybe it's not...it's midnight my time and most things are hilarious to me when I'm this tired :}). I'm surprised they did that; all the communications I've had with the Lunette company have been very helpful.

Anyways, I think it would be nice if they made more colored cups or made the Selene a permanent offering. Personally, I like the Selene blue much better than the Ladycup blue.

That would be great! I think that the Selene should be permanent; it is gorgeous, probably as comfortable as the classic one (I can't compare, I don't have a classic Lunette).
I also think that the Mooncup UK should have a colored sister (with another name) that would be able to escape the US ban.

Email them?

The Lunette site used to say something about being reluctant to use coloring agents that were not approved because they could alter the silicone. Finns are really specific with rules and regulations in general let alone in medical grade things. That said, the site USED to say that, but when I went there to get a quote for you, I couldn't find it anymore. Maybe they're working on it? I'm not exactly sure what the policy on silicone is here, but the Lunette company does seem pretty specific on keeping the silicone as pure as possible. I guess only time will tell...

Thanks for all the replies, folks! I guess it isn't really worth hanging on waiting for a new coloured Lunette if the Selene size 1s run out, in this case.
