Help!

I just finished my second period using the diva cup.  It's not working, and I have no idea why. I'm nineteen and have never given  birth, so I got the smaller size.  I've been inserting it using the push down fold, and as far as I can tell it's popping open. It goes in really easily. It seems like there's a seal, I think. Yet it leaks all the time. I've had to use pads in addition to the cup because of the leakage. And it's not just spotting. And it doesn't happen after several hours, it happens almost immediately. The weird thing is that occasionally it won't leak, and I don't know why. As far as I can tell I'm not doing anything differently between the times when it works and doesn't work.

Does this mean that it's just the wrong shape/size? Is there another brand that would be better?

I looked on the diva cup website and it said that if the cup isn't working I either didn't insert it correctly, which is totally possible, or I didn't spin it... So I've been trying to "spin" it, but it just doesn't spin. As in, I try to move the cup in a circle but I can't. Does this mean I've inserted it wrong or am I misunderstanding the concept of spinning it?

I'd love any help you can give me. I really love the idea of menstrual cups and I really want it to work. I don't want to give up, but if it's not working then I don't know what I can do.
