Aussie 'resistance' to cups??

I've been meaning to ask this for ages. I'm in australia and got my first cup (a clear Lunette) over a year ago and being an active chic it has definately changed my life! However, when I told my girlfriends about this, work colleagues...and basically anyone else I can rave to...they all seem to screw up their faces. Some have said it sounds like a good idea but so far I have only managed to convert one person, and that was an 'alternative' friend of my mums!!

Most of my friends said that it sounds gross (like wallowing in a pad for hours is better??!!) and some didn't like the idea of 'putting something' in their vagina....but I mean..some of these women have had children so its not like they have never had anything in there before!!

I spent some time in the UK last year and I know it's already in yoga and health mags out there. So my question is, have you other Aussie cup users had the same response? Are we doomed to be behind the rest of the world??! The impression I'm getting is that Aussie women are still happy to whine about the age old problem but not accept the 21st Century solution!!
