Background: I'm 33yrs old, just recently given birth vaginally and have what I would have considered a regular flow (but I'm suspecting it's maybe more). I don't have any medical issuses vaginally, that I know of and I think my cervix is really high up...I haven't really dug up there yet to see, but I've put my finger pretty far in and don't feel it. I remember my OB/GYN having to dig in pretty far for cervical checks during pregnancy, so probably so.
One other background comment, my 'issue', I knew I'd really wanted to use a cup, but my biggest hang-up has been that I've NEVER put my finger in my vagina before...crazy, I know...and I was litterally sick at my stomach thinking about doing it. BUT I knew this was rediculous and I'd need to get over it. So that's been a little bit of a set back, but I'm getting a lot better at it, but not great.
Cup Purchased: After reading here on this wonderful site, I decided to purchase a large LadyCup. I liked the idea of the silicone being more plyable and the least amount of ridges/writting. And I didn't think capacity would be an issue. Obviously I didn't get it in my head about it being more difficult to get out, considering my 'issues', it may have not been the best choice.
Experience thus far: Inserted it the first time on Monday night, thought I'd never get it out due to it being so high up and that I was getting ill digging around in there :( But finally dug down to birth mode and used those Kegel exercises and got the darn thing out! Good note however, I was expecting to experience pain with removal and had none, yeah! I think giving birth helps with the sensation you experience and knowing not to tense up. And after thinking I might need to go to the ER to have it removed, I decided to put it back it!!! Was I crazy :) So over the past few days I've been getting more comfortable with myself and the cup...I really love it for the most part and can't wait to really get the hang of it. I don't feel it at all inside, totally comfortable. Easy to insert, although sometimes I wonder if it's opened all the way. Didn't need to clip the stem and it's well within the vaginal canal. So questions...
1. On my first full 'heavy' day of my period, I was leaking a bit, so removed the cup, it was pretty much halfway full. Is that as much as it can hold??
2. Because it's tilted somewhat inside of you, is it coming thru the holes?? What are the holes for anyways, I haven't quite figured that out.
3. I've had to empty it during the day about every 2 hours, but it's not always halfway full, but usually is. Do you think I need a larger capacity cup?
Thank you, thank you, thank you....in advance :)
