I got my first menstrual cup today, a Lunette size 2. I probably should have gone for a smaller cup, but I'll give this one a few cycles first.
I was having some issues getting it in. My period is just barely starting and unfortunately all I have is silicone-based lube. The first try was uncomfortable and kind of burned, probably because of the lack of lube. When I couldn't get it in at first I started freaking out and thank god for the tags here, all of your posts helped so much! I took the advice, gave up for 2 hours, and then tried again.
I found that lying on my back was easiest for me, and I'm convinced that using some water-based lube will make it easier in the future. But yay! I got it in! I also ended up using the punch down fold after trying the others and finding them too wide (C) or too tricky to keep closed (origami).

Question: How far down should the tail thing be? I haven't cut it off yet, and it's just at my vaginal opening. I'm sorry if that's TMI, I'm just not sure what I'm doing and I want to make sure it's in right!!!!
