I've been using cloth pads for over two years now, and I am really on board with reusable menstrual products. I can't imagine going back to disposables at this point.

However, I recently realized that I'm about to run into a problem. I've been rock climbing for two months or so and I absolutely love it. But cloth pads and rock climbing do not seem like a good match. More like a recipe for embarrassment and discomfort. Last month, I just sat out for the week of my period, but I don't want to give up a week of climbing time every month just because I've got my period.

Tampons are a possibility, especially since I have a ton left over from before I switched to cloth, but tampons have never been a good option for me. Except for the second day of my period, I'm a light bleeder and even leaving in the tampon for the maximum amount of time you can safely use them, they still tend to have, um, dry spots when I pull them out. Ouch.

So, I'm considering a menstrual cup. I guess I'm mainly looking for some advice on where to start. I'm 24 and a virgin, and pretty tight. When I've explored my anatomy, I've found I can get one finger inside myself without too much trouble, any more and it hurts. Also, since I'm doing this specifically for climbing, I'm wondering if a cup is a good idea considering you can contort into some pretty interesting positions when you climb. If there are any other climbers out there, I'd love to hear from you. *g*
