Ok...I really don't know where to ask this. I don't even know what to look up on the internet. It's really weird and I was hoping that perhaps someone on here might be able to help me. It's not entirely cup related.

I can feel my uterus. I mean actually feel it, inside of me...nothing touching it. It's really weird. It almost reminds me of when I was last pregnant and my daughter would push her head into my cervix. The big difference is that then I was 7 or 8 months pregnant and as far as I know I'm not preggers now.

I've been using my cup for about a week now. I'm not on my period. I usually put the cup in a day or two before I think I'm going to get it so I'm protected when the flow starts. I'm very heavy right off the bat and this is one of the best ways for me not to have ruined clothes. lol I used to do the same thing with pads when I used them.

Anyways, I'm taking it out and washing it twice a day (before bed and in the shower in the morning). I've always done this without any problem. There's a little fluid in it but I attribute that to regular discharge (it's white-ish and has a distinct odor...not unpleasant, just distinct).

I thought at first that I was pregnant but I took a test today and it's negative. So now I'm wondering if it might be something else. I've never had this sensation before.

Any help would be wonderful.

You might want to ask at vaginapagina, they would probably know best.

Thanks luv. I didn't know there was a group about vaginas. Learn something new every day. lol

Hehe :) It's not just about vaginas, but also about women's health in general. Good luck!

AT different points in your cycle, your cervix, which is the opening to your uterus (I know that you know this, but not everyone will), will be quite low.

However, you could also have a slight prolapse. I would go see your midwife or other HCP for an exam. In the meantime, kegels and homeopathic sepia will help.

Thanks luv. I didn't know what a prolapse was or even that it can happen. I hope that's not what's happening to me. I looked up prolapse on google (love google) and found a medical site that explained it pretty well. I have only one risk factor and that's the fact that I'm overweight. I've been trying to lose weight and it looks like I have yet another reason to do so. lol

I'm going to start doing kegals and if it seems to get worse I'll make an appointment with my doctor.

NP. And fwiw, a mild prolapse isn't a big deal, especially if you are taking steps to correct it.

Thanks again luv.

i would definitely consult your health care practitioner.
the first thing that came to my mind was uterine fibroids. it's hard to tell from your description (and I know these kinds of things can be hard to describe!) exactly what you mean, but I had (have) uterine fibroids and they can be large and uncomfortable.

but see your health care person...

I have uterine fibroids, and I can feel them when I press on my abdominal area. They enlarge the uterus when they get big in size. They can enlarge the uterus to various pregnancy sizes. I also have the discharge like you describe. I have done some research on it and that is common. You may want to see the doc and have it checked. They will probably want to do an ultrasound to get a closer look.

Ok...thanks hon. I don't feel anything when I press on my abdomin. I just have this sensation and I can feel my uterus (not by touch...just that's where the sensation is). It's getting uncomfortable.

My guess is that the cup is touching your cervix. I know mine does that.
Jessicaamethystrse on July 1st, 2008 12:13 pm (UTC)
Sometimes it does that. There was one time it went too far in and opened on the side of my cervix (mine always rides a little low). Ouch! lol But I just adjusted it and it was fine. My uterus might be a little inside the cup. But that's not just where I feel the sensation. It's the entire area where my womb is that I can feel.

That's strange. I felt like that after I got my IUD, and sometimes I still do when I have cramps. I wonder if your uterus is irritated for some reason.
Jessicaamethystrse on July 1st, 2008 11:33 pm (UTC)
Maybe. I hope it's not a sign of an infection of some sort. *sigh*

Yeah, I hope not too. It couldn't hurt to get it checked out, but if it doesn't hurt I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thanks. I think I'm going to wait a bit because I got my period this morning. My mom said that it could just be that I'm going to have a really heavy period (she said maybe my uterus was just really full. lol) I don't know about that but I'm going to wait till my period is over to make an appointment.
