New Cup Help!

Ok, so I've been using my brand new Diva Cup for two days, and I'm having some rather painful problems.  I feel like I'm too tight too insert or remove very easily.  I haven't been sexually active in two years, but I'm not a virgin, so I'm pretty sure it's not a hymen issue.  Insertion isn't too bad, I've been using the punch-down, because that seems to be the smallest way to get it in.  It's still pretty painful though, but that I can get used to even.  It's the removal that's killing me.  I bear down and use the stem to pull it a bit further down, and then I can barely get my thumb and middle finger up there to pinch the base to get it out.  It's like there's not enough room for my fingers and the cup at the opening... it's really really really painful.  Then pulling it out is not easy either.. I'm pretty sure the seal is broken from pinching the base, but because it's so much wider coming out than going in, it's even worse, even when I try to c-fold it on the way out.  So I guess I'm wondering if I'm doomed to have painful insertion and removal forever, or if there's anything that will help? Is it just a getting used to it kind of thing?  Or is there some magical way of removal that doesn't require sticking multiple fingers up there?  I was really excited and hopeful my cup would be my new best friend, but now I'm not so sure. Thanks for any help!
