My problem is that I have diminished strength in my fingers and wrists from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I sometimes have problems gripping and holding things. Anything that requires my hands to do a torque motion, pressure plus twist, can be painful.
When I tried removing the mooncup for the first time, I realized I did not have enough strength in my hands to grasp the stem, pull the base down, pinch to break the seal, or rotate. This was scary. Eventually I did get it out by bearing down hard and then pinching and pulling, but I had sore fingers, wrists, and elbows for the rest of the day. I don't want to put the mooncup back in for fear I'll never be able to get it back out again without inflicting pain to my hands.
Can women with hand problems from carpal tunnel or arthritis use menstrual cups? Thank you all for your great advice.
