Another successful first time!

Soo, I ordered a DivaCup and it came in the mail a few weeks ago. Since then, I've been putting it in and taking it out every so often to try to get the hang of it before my period got here. I still haven't got it down completely, but I haven't had any major problems.

This morning, I woke up to the oh-so-familiar twisty bloaty crampy feeling of my period. Normally I would be somewhat less than excited, but I jumped up, did a little dance, and put in the cup. I took a shower a while later, and I felt like the cup was pushing against my cervix, so I took it out to re-place it.

Did anyone else freak out a little when you dumped out your blood for the first time? It looked so bizarre, all splattered on the sides of my shower, and swirling around my feet.....I'm sure the shock of it will go away in the next few days though, hah.

I have a couple of things to ask/comment about, though. I still feel like the cup is pushing against my cervix. It may just be normal cramping, but it feels worse than that, and uncomfortably like when my boyfriend pokes itduring sex. I tried to not push it up very far, but I think it may have ridden up a bit. (I don't think the problem is the length of the cup, I have kept the stem on and it doesn't bother me at all)

Also, is it bad to put the cup in without drying it off first? I was in the shower, and it had droplets of water on the inside and outside, so did dry it off before I put it back in, but I'm sure that more water got on it without my seeing.

And, taking it out has been a little difficult for me. The suction is a little hard to break, and my nails are too long to stick my fingers up too far. I guess I have to clip a couple of fingernails so I don't scratch or pinch myself!
