OK, so I just received my DivaCup in the mail; it was previously owned by a member of this community (purnickitty) who couldn't really get it to work for her. Anyway, obviously I want to boil it a few times before I use it -- my period's not due till next Sunday, so all is well.

Now, here's the issue. I wanted to give my Diva a bit of a "dry run" before I actually have to use it for real, and so I want to do the boiling before that, obviously. Here's the problem: I don't own a kettle. And I can't even do the "boiling water in a pot" thing because I live in a college dorm and, for some reason, the intellectual giants who built this place decided we didn't need a kitchen. All the people I know who own electric kettles have gone away for spring break and won't be back before I get my period.

So, okay, I realize this is probably a very dumb question, but: if I put a mug of water in the microwave and zapped it, would that work? I'm just really wanting to make sure I can insert the Cup comfortably before the real thing arrives, and I want everything to be hygienic, obviously. :)
