i found this photo extremely helpful... especially since everyone's first reaction seems to be, "holy ***! this thing is HUGE!" perhaps it'll encourage more women to convert to a cup.
ack! just my luck. unfortunately, i didn't save the photo to my harddrive. i'll try my best to find the picture elsewhere. to describe... it was a picture of a mooncup being compared to a wet, fully expanded tampon (made possible with water) and it illustrated the fact that they are roughly the same size! Also, the enlarged photo showed nicely how icky tampons are since several fibers are hanging loosely off of the tampon.
Oh, my poor Vagina! To think that that bleached cotton junk was in there for over six hours! I've had my cup for two years now and I am soooooo happy abou it.

Well, that should fix the folks who think the cup is way too big for where it goes! It may even help some of the un-informed moms out there exactly what is what too!
It is a nice comparison picture, but how many women would ever actually put a tampon that size into herself? I sure as hell wouldn't, and I never have. The tampons I've used have been significantly smaller. Although at the very least the cup bends and folds; the tampon does not.
that tampon is wet and exanded. it was probably alot more compacted before it was moistened. i'm not the OP but i'm assumg it's a regular sized tampon.
